Welcome to this section, dedicated to Users Astropics. We often are asked by beginners and prospective buyers "what can I see" with a particular Orion Optics UK telescope - to address this issue we invite User's of our telescopes to submit photograps taken ONLY with any of our telescope ranges.
We fully understand and emphasise that astrophotography is in no way similar to seeing through the eyepiece but this venture is purely to show what is possible with our instruments.
From the outset we must stress that images presented must be of good quality - it is important to show only top quality images here.
The nature of astrophotography requires knowledge and experience to produce good images, while we commend anyone taking astrophotos with our telescopes we must maintain a high standard. Please reflect on this if we decline your attempt.
We ask potential astrophotographers in the first instance to sumbit one or two good images to the site webmaster at t50ufo@tiscali.co.uk - you must give the following information: The telescope model and details of any additional extras. A description of the subject and the technical details of how the image(s) were taken, camera type, filters, etc.
If we think your work is of suitable standard, we will invite you to supply up to 10 images from which we can create a gallery of your images. Also send us a pic of youself and your equipment setup. This way you can help us to give a realistic overview of how our instruments perform and can be used, you as the photographer will have your images viewed worldwide.
If you have a gallery and wish to update, change or delete it please email the webmaster at the above address.
GOOD LUCK and DARK SKIES!

Despite having bad seeing conditions and our well known and often painted Dutch clouds in the sky, even here below sea level, it is possible to obtain great images of planets and deep sky objects. Heavy light pollution is also another big problem in our region with Soccer and Hockey fields and more people installing ridiculous strong garden lights.

I have a heavily light polluted home location. So I always use filters and take my complete equipment with me to summer vacations under good skies. Some of the pictures are from my vacation site in Austria and some from Berlin.
