NEWS: Two OOUK Telescope Astroimagers win Highly Commended awards
Added 9 September 2011

CONGRATULATIONS to Michael Sidonio (Australia) and George Tarsoudis (Greece) who have each received "Highly Commended" awards for their astroimages in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2011 Awards.

The Royal Observatory Greenwich (London) proudly presents Astronomy Photographer of the Year – a free exhibition showcasing some incredible images of the sky. Now in its third year, 2011 has brought some incredible images to the competition and exhibition, showing astronomical objects from within our solar system and far into deep space.
Both Mike and George are avid astrophotographers and their work can be seen on our own Customer Image Gallery. Well done to both of you. You can view the highly commended photographs here and categories are: "Our Solar System" (George) and "Deep Space" (Mike).

NEW: CNC Machined Tube Rings now available to buy online
Added 7 September 2011

CNCringsWe are pleased to offer these solid, robust, slick designed CNC rings, made from solid aerospace quality anodised aluminium.

The rings attach either directly to the mounting or to the base plates via the pre-drilled M6 holes. The top of the rings are also machined flat to enable accessories to be fitted or another base plate. Through the sides of each ring are clearance holes not only do these decrease the weight they can be used for more stability by using threaded rods. They tighten by a large hand knob and can be opened by the machined hinge opposite. The rings are felt lined to protect your telescope. If you do not see the size for your telescope please contact us for a quote. Click HERE to buy CNCTube Rings.

NEWS: CT Owner is Impressed!
Added 4 Aug 2011

This is my first light with my Orion CT12 with a very good optical collimation :-)

A sum of 18frames of 300seconds each one with Qhy10 on the Ct12 (baader planetarium MPCC coma corrector), the subject is the famous dark nebula B142 (the Capital Letter E of the sky!) for me is the E of "EUREKA" or like we say in Italian EVVIVA!!!!!
Great performance, all the deeper black/brown dust are in evidence and the stars like little tiny pin point.

Thanks a lot for creating such an instrument like this!!!!!

Best regards, Giovanni Leoni, italy
