The AG14 requires a heavier mounting than the AG12 but, once set up, it will give you remarkable images. A Paramount is recommended for this telescope because of it’s weight (24kg), anything with a capacity of 30kg or less will not be able to get the best from this model.

Once set up correctly, you will have an instrument capable of giving images of the highest quality, for it’s aperture, we know of no other telescopes on the market that can outperform the AG14 for Deep Sky imaging.

Many options are available for the AG14 and, as most of our current users have quite heavy equipment fitted and have utilised our focuser upgrade attachments which we fit to Atlas focusers.

Heaters are available for the AG14 as with all the AG models and, from the AG12 upwards, a great majority of our sales have heaters fitted. They add the piece of mind that any possibility of image spoiling dew can be avoided during an imaging session. They also can keep frost off the tube, especially the tube end around the secondary holder and mirror. These heaters are, in virtually all cases, added at the point of purchase of the telescope. It is possible to add them later but it necessitates the return to us of the tube assembly as fitting is sometimes complicated. Our advice, get them at the outset and be Dew Free, you will appreciate the difference the first night when you are trouble free.
