Sustaining absolute focal precision for a massive 600mm mirror requires an flawless structural design. The ODK24Tr utilizes a state-of-the-art open carbon fibre sandwich truss framework. This advanced assembly ensures immense rigidity against mechanical flexure while offering a near-zero thermal expansion coefficient. As nighttime temperatures fluctuate across long-exposure runs, your focus positions remain locked down, completely eliminating the need for constant, automated refocusing interruptions.
Custom Flotation Engineering & Thermal Stability
The massive 600mm primary mirror is perfectly balanced within a custom honeycomb CNC-machined aluminium flotation cell, designed to eliminate mechanical stress and optical distortion. To clear boundary layer air currents and bring the large optical mass to ambient temperatures rapidly, the cell integrates 3 controllable cooling fans. Standard configurations include our specialized heavy-duty 3” CERES focuser, utilizing a 10:1 reduction Crayford system to deliver completely flexure-free operation under heavy equipment payloads.
