The tube is constructed from Carbon Fibre sandwich design - very, very strong to avoid flexing and, zero expansion to ensure the focal plane does not change over long photographic exposures.

To assist cool down of the telescope, each model is fitted with three fans, all positioned behind the primary mirror.

Precise focusing is achieved by the application of our new 3” Crayford focuser on all models. Large bearings are placed in optimum positions to spread the load of the drawtube / corrector and, any camera which will be fitted.

A 10:1 reduction drive is included as standard and, as an option, we can include our electronic drive system with variable speed focusing control.

To produce the remarkably flat photographic field, we have designed and built our Corrected Field Flattener (CFF). This design is based on the Wynne Corrector, often used in similar telescopes. We have taken this design a leap forward and increased the performance over a wider field. Spot sizes are incredibly small and regular across a very wide field (see Specification list for details). The use of specialised ED glass types ensure both colour correction, coma and spherical aberration are optimised to achieve almost a perfect photographic, very wide field.
79mm of back focus* allows virtually 100% of modern CCD cameras to be used with auxiliary equipment. When choosing a camera and fittings, ensure that your chip/film is positioned within 1mm of this distance from the top surface of the corrector lens, otherwise, the full potential of the corrected system will not be realised.The CFF is coated with low loss, multi layer anti reflection coatings to maintain brighter images. OC2 focusers on AG models are designed to accept equipment up to and including 4 kg. If heavier equipment is planned, we have several options available to carry up to 7kg. Example shown: AG16 with upgraded OC2 focuser and CNC stability rings (click on the image to expand). Please contact us for detailed options and pricing.

OC2KitsmlCNC machined mono construction secondary spider and trim ensures stability in collimation. Our unique collimation adjustment system enables perfect collimation of the secondary mirror to be achieved, quickly and reliably.

The main mirror is held in our newly introduced, computer optimised, nine point suspension cell. This balances the mass of the mirror over a much larger area and provides sharper, better defined images.

Good images need good optics, all fitted in reliable, stable and precise engineering.

The mirrors in our AG range are hand figured to Lambda / 8 or better.

Both mirrors are supplied with our enhanced Hilux reflective coatings giving up to 25%brighter images than conventional coatings.

A full Zygo report of the main mirror is issued from our optical laboratory and is provided with each telescope.

Prices quoted are for Optical Tube Assembly only. Carbon Tubes come complete with 3" Focuser, CNC machined tube rings and Wynne Corrector.

A number of base plates and guideplates along with different Losmandy style and Vixen style dovetails will soon be uploaded. Please ask if you need anything adding to your telescope as we have a 1st class CNC machine shop with dedicated staff to help you.

AGCmount

This C mount adaptor (£180) will enable you fit any camera with a C mount fitting directly on top of the Wynne corrector. Your camera will need a back focal length to the chip around 18mm +/-3mm (BFL) to ensure this will work correctly. If you need a special adaptor manufacturing please contact us for a quote
